confused Weird Laser Problem

Got this problem with 1.6 carby KF laser (91).
Overheated and cooked the head one day due to hole in radiator, mechanic replaced head with reco head, gaskets etc.

Now if I drive it a few K's or more stop and leave it for 15-25 min to 1-2 hours, start it again goes ok for 100-1200 metres then dies, leave car for 20-30 minutes after dying it will then restart.

It doesn't always do it, and if I do a lot of start and stop driving it may do it the next day when it is started from cold.
Also seems to occasionally splutter under acceleration, or idle real low.

Mechanic has replaced fuel pump, filter etc. Stilldoes it seems to have a mind of it's own.
Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If it's electronic ignition. Try replacing that.

Module gets hot cuts out?

Module cools car restarts?

Mate if you cooked the head you'v possibly cooked the rest / rings where the heat is generated!
Within say 5.000 kms it will possibly start smoking real bad.Consider selling while she's still going???
