weird problems

Ok, my eb wont go....
Maybe one of you knows why?
It started farting like the fuel was running out, then died.
In Kalamunda - about 1 hour from where I live. Dammit!
Now it won't go. Neither of the relays are ticking, I've tried replacing them so its not that. The power and earth for them are good, and I get spark from the plugs.
All I can think of is its the computer (PLEASE tell me its not that!!!)
Uh....help?
Anyway I'll have to go back down to Kalamunda tomorrow and try fix it, will take a spare dizzy with me in case its the ignition module. Lucky it stopped just rond the corner from the wrecker I use, I can scavenge parts off him I guess till it works...

BUGGER!!!

The risk is someone else will find your car 1st and sell the parts to that wrecker (it's all down hill from Kalamunda anyway). Actuially the hills might be a factor fuel and gunk moving to pick up side of the tank? I would say a blocked fuel filter is one suspect with a chaep solution. Try a new filter or try disconnecting the tank side of the filter and letting some fuel out the hose and filter and see if it starts then (and what gunk comes out).

If it coughs and farts before conking out, it is near certain to be a fuel related problem.

Yeah was my thought....
Ralph's OK tho, hes got the car locked in the yard
Basically I got plenty of fuel at the rail, the relays arent getting the signal from the computer to operate...
oh well. I will go look at it now, hopefully I'll find out what it was.
Cheers
Alex

Well, we worked out its probably the immobiliser, rather than sod about with it I'll just replace all the looms with serII NC looms, that way I get cruise control etc.
So far its taken 3 days (not full days though), I should finish it tomorrow in time for the cruise - otherwise i'll set fire to the bloody heap of shit.

Oh well its finally finished.
Ended up taking about a week.....trouble is I have to work in the morning then drive an hour to get there. Net effect - 2 or 3 hours a day to work on the car.....dammit....
So, now I reckon I'm the only bloke in Australia with a 1991 EB Gl which has a trip computer, cruise control, etc.
That's kinda.......worrying, I think. I spend too much time on that damn car! Oh well its fun.

Yes....
I might finish putting the interior back together sometime this year.

Actually, it was surprisingly straightforward - mostly just a plug-in job, and just as well as its replacing my shoddy wiring :-\
The most difficult part was replacing the electronic dash cluster with the s-pak one.....bloody pins won't come out of the plugs, had to do it with the soldering iron instead - thank god for parts cars!
