Spent thisarvo installing my Wade 1004 110LSA into my Auto EL Fairmont. The installation went smoothly apart from the fact that i couldnt find my small 10mm socket and my big one didnt clear the rockers, which nesisitated removing the rockers with a ring spanner.
Its been running for about 30min and ive taken it hard (0-110kmh) once so far (naughty i know but i had to) and well i dont know if im missing it, but it doesnt feel ANY diffrent to before. Its probably me expecting a massive rush, but im alittle disapointed.
The other problem is the idle, it fluctuates from 250==>1100rpm atm, but i havent reset the base idle yet so that will be fixed easly.
Id post some pics, but really, what the hell is the use of a pic of a cam??

So this 1004 is sort of the 'base model' for those who just want to mod the cam slightly isnt it? It's nothing too huge but it's meant to make a little difference? Or am i wrong?
Very interesting that you got SFA out of it, im sorta interested in doing mine but nothing too major as i'd have to hide it from my insurance company.

Mate you're pretty safe when it comes to internal engine mods. They just don't wanna see extractors, exhaust, or a blower hanging off the side..
Yeah, i know they wouldnt be able to tell, and they're actually ok with extractors and a blower would be a waste of time and money , but doesn the grind of the cam affect your exhaust note too - i.e. if you have a cam, it can result in a lower note?
Its actually another reason to do it, but then again if they have a good enough assessor who has to look over my car at some point, he may just pick it.
