Wondering what others use in their xf's?
As i just bought the car i want to do an oil and filter change and get intot he habbit.

What would others suggest?

The car does not use any oil or smoke when reved hard as the rebuild is only two years old/26000km.

Seeing you live in a warm place, probably a 15w-40. Check out the Penrite website and see what they have to offer. Penrite may be a bit more expensive, but it is one hell of an oil.

That HPR 30 looks OK, it is a bit thicker, but summer is on the way, so a thicker oil won't hurt.

Went on the cheap this time as i only did a topup with shell helix super but will go with the HPR 30 when i do the filter too.

I cant believe how low it was. Took 3 litres to "topup". What was the previous owner thinking?

I used Mobil1 in my XF after motor rebuild, better cam, and rebuilt carby, and had no problems did about 60,000 before i got rid of it.

3 litres to top up? That must have been seriously low on oil. Well you wont use any with the HPR 30.

Change the oil and filter every 5,000 k's and you can't go wrong.
