what the hell is this??

found this little electrical connection disconnected on my AU and am a little worried/intruiged...

does anyone know what this is? is it a problem being disconnected?

its just above the oil filter

Just looked at it on my car now,

Well not sure what it is, but on mine it's got a wire connected to it. The wire connected to it runs from the same wite as the connection of the other plug next to it.

yeah thanks strider, i did notice that the wire was connecting up with the other one

was just wondering if anyone knew what it actually did and if itd be a problem not having it connected

am actually thinking it has something to do with the air conditioning system now as the cylinder shaped thing that it plugs into actually hooks up to the a/c compressor

I have the same little big, except mine is connected to the chasis rail, and it has 2 brown wires coming off it with a blue stripe..

Mine connects to the a/c unit too..

perhaps a speed sensor for the air con?
i dunno im just having a wild stab in the dark here from the photo it looked like it WAS at one stage connected go to ford and just ask one of the service advisors they should be able to identify it and maybe fix it for nothin on the spot
