What the..... Help

Ok guys, im having trouble understanding what type of engine is better, a good 70% of people are going for the MPI engine, and from what i know, it is more reliable and powerful then the CFI. But is that true? So far ive been getting some indication that a CFI engine is just as good or even better. All stock motors aside, which motor is the fastest if they both had the same mods, configured at the same ratio's or settings. Is the CFI really the underdog? Does CFI respond better to work then MPI.

A little confused, EAofWAR.

And since im in the market for an EA '90 S, very shortly which would be the go, since i will be working it.

The CFI is down on power no doubt, but is definately no less reliable than an MPI. Infact I have had next to no troubles with it for the 4 years it's been in the family. It's a good engine, though not as good as MPI and I suggest that if you're going to work it, then MPI is the way to go for sure.

But if it was basic transport you were after and don't care much for performance then there is certainly nothing wrong with CFI.

what the....help

I rang Herrod Motorsport about this issue and was told that it does not matter wether the car is cfi or multi point, for performance. Apparently the gain is not that great, as for tuning the cfi can do pretty much everthing the multi point can. The guy I spoke to said that the only difference is the multi point is smoother.

Just what i heard.

Apart from being less powerful that the MPI the CFI is also worse on fuel, as mentioned around here before.
