For hot conditions use a oil thats made for it. I'd say the good old 20/50 is the way to go.

Lower Oils like 15/40 are made for cold climates.

I use Penrite HPR 30. Its 20w-60 it goes fine and maintains good oil pressure on even the hottest days.

Mobil Synth S, been using it for the last 30,000kms with 5000km changes. Pulled the rocker cover off a month or so back and the top end still looked brand new

I have been using Caltex Havoline Formula 3 for aprox the last 30k, with 5k oil & filter changes. When i did the head gasket the other week i checked the bores, they where perfect, after 145k. The valve train was also near perfect.
Its 20w50.

Before that i used Shell Helix Plus for 20k, this is a 15w50 and is just as good an oil.

They are both Semi-Synthetic.
