What was the standard 0-100km/h time of the E series 4.0l MPFI's?

Hey, I've just finished servicing and tuning our ED 4.0l GLi.. it's got a 2.5" mandrel exhaust from the cat back, a better ignition coil and leads, it's an auto.. but I timed it as accurately as I could on a flat bit of road and got figures from 8.16 - 8.24 - 8.3 seconds
All figures we're with the power button on but left in drive .. launching about 35% throttle. I don't know what the standard figures we're.. but this was with 1/4 tank and just me aboard.. it's a base model.

My car managed a best of 9.01, but that was doing the dodgy arse nokia way. My cars just a standard EL futura with a k&n. But mine is bit of slug...

thats quite a good time for basically a stock auto ED - must be around what they did brand new, so that means your car is in good nick still!

it means he timed it on his mobile phone.

Also according to wheels magazine (May 1992) they got a 9.3 0-100 time in a auto EB GLi. so your going better than what they were from new.but it all depended on the driver off that car. he may not have stalled it up like you.

Official ford figures were 9.4s 0-100kph and 16.8s for the 1/4 mile. 8.3s is fairly quick, how did you actually time the runs?
