Im tearing down my cleaveland and one of the bores is damaged so shes going to need a rebore, the question is do I have to throw away my block or not. The engine has been rebuild at some stage and it has been rebored the question is by how much, the pistons have this stamped on top;

TOP 0025 FCO

Anybody know? is it 25 thou over or the dreaded 60 thou?

I think you will find it is 60th over :-( not 25th. You should be able to find a cheap second hand block around the place though.

I must concure with EDXR8, it certainly looks like 60 thou over to me.

how bad is the bore damaged?

Overbores on Clevelands like windsors is not real good. Sounds like 60th over..I don't "think" they made 25th over??
Seek another block or buy a whole car cheap...Can the damage be honed out???Can sleeve but there are too many 2nd hand blocks around in good nick ..As said..

Thanks for the replies guys! Alas it seems my fears were correct, however there is light at the end of the tunnel! I looked at the notice board out side my work tonight, and for once there was something good!!! 351 Black block, Standard bore, for $100, plus hes got an 11"cluctch in good nick that he's gonna throw in too. The V8 coversion continues!!!
