I have an XE with a 250 and an auto. Which I tune myself and it lights up the (only one) 235/60/14 with ease, it some time span both!! To stop this I put 245/50/14 all round..
She is for sale by the way. Don't want too, have too..
Well to be honest IMO i think theres nothing wrong with your car, the 3 speed auto's have a super tall diff ratio of 2.77 and first gear is abit of a yawn of the lights. Don't get me wrong it's not that your car has no power but it's the ratio's and trans.
My mate had an XF Fairmont with a 3 speed as well, and on the dry on a straight line if you boot it, it won't spin. Lights'em up around corners though
Trust me if you wan't to do that party trick apart from doin up the engine put a manual with a higher diff ratio like a 3.08. Hehehe just ask DK with his 5 speed XF.
The XE should have 107kw in a manual it would light'em up no probs.
I've had a carby 87XF 4.1 5speed with a 3.45ute diff which could light up 245's with ease in a strait line(incluing 2nd gear)and would only do 150-160K's flat chat,it was the best tow car I have ever driven till the T5....died in the ass!
