Where to go for Warranty Service?

Hi,

My XR8 is due for it's first service 15000 km/s ( I have changed the oil in between).

Wondering if I should take it to Ford or go to another place like Ultratune,Midas etc that do the same service and presumably cost less.

I have heard many bad things about dealer servicing and they seem more expensive on average.

Any reccomendations?

I take it then you're XR8 didn't come with scheduled servicing (AU3?)

To be honest, chain places like Ultra Tune, Midas etc can just be us dodgy, if not dodgier than a Ford Dealer - they have to deal with more car manufacturers and models than just Fords.

Try a local dealer, and if you're not happy with them try another one. Where in Sydney are you? Others might recommend dealers they've had good experiences with close by. As far as services go, Sinclair Ford have been pretty good to me - couple of minor issues with warranty stuff, but nothing that hasn't been cleared up easily.

Cool,

I guess you are right dodgy people can be found everywhere. I am based around the parramatta area and have found both Thomson Ford and Brad Garlick to be less than thorough - See my post on AU 6 missing on starts for the result.

Is Midas at West Ryde any good as they are reasonably priced and close-by? Any other good servicing companies in the parramatta/ryde/homebush area?
