hey fellas, im sure that a few of you have experienced this and didnt know if any of you have had any luck in getting them out. im talking about those white scratches that come up in the center console on the ea's. all you have to do is touch them and they scratched i hit it with some armourall and thats done a little but nothing major, can ne one help

I had this problem until I experimented one day with a console i had out of a wreck. Get hold of some oil based paint the same colour or as close as possible you can get. Get a bushy paint brush and pat the console with the paint if you feel the streaks show. They didn't on my console because the paint leveled itself out when it sat long enough. Paint one side at a time though and let it dry. The finished product is fantastic, the paint leaves a high gloss and is basically indestructable. Two coats will make the job spot on. Make sure the paint is not too thin.

I've only ever noticed this on the earlier consoles, later models SII maybe? have a better type of plastic, I had a SII EA with the high style centre console and it was almost perfect @ 11 years old, mate has an NA with same console and is also in perfect nick.

Maybe a better idea would be to hit the wreckers and pick a later one up for stuff all?
