hey everyone

bout 3 weeks ago i posted about my windscreen demister not working, i was informed that it is most likley a vaccume hose comming off the manifold,

the vaccume hose is still attached but i have some more probs with the system that may shed a different light on the subject....

the system will not switch to demist OR to feet, it is stuck on face

when u select something on the climate control panel and turn off the ignition then turn it back on it doesnt return to the selected setting, i mean if u select demist the demist light comes on but when u turn the car off and on again the system resets itsself to auto

can anyone help me? i cannot drive the car in this weather without the demist caus the windscreen fogs up!

Broken blend door and the system is meant to return to auto settings after the ignition is switched off. Run the self test diagnostics and report any fault codes back here; with engine hot and ignition on hold the "Off" and "Floor" buttons down together for a few second then release them. All the Climate Control panel lights should go on and it will run through a self test routine for a few minutes and then report a fault code on the temp display. "OFF" means no faults were found, An "E2' is a broken blend door.

ive heard that if it finds a fault then the system wont work at all till the faults are fixed, is this true?

No;not usually. It will still work with most minor faults albeit without the broken features (a bit like Mr Gate's MS products but more predictable)

the car is getting a roadworthy now, turns out its a flap on the vaccum motor

the guy said he may be able to put the flap back on, if he cant he is going to have to remove the dash and the heater box to replace the part

could be a $400 job

well they didnt have to take the dash out to fix it, but they did say they dont know how long its going to last

the roadworthy was $445 all up, they replaced my worn rear suspension bushes, that was $245, an exhaust leak was fixed and the front right hand control arm bracket was fugged,

so YAY my car is roadworthy :s6:
