XC Falcon wiper motor problems - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I've got a 1978 XC (Mark II) series Falcon ute here in the States. Prior owners tightened the adjustment on the wiper motor to the point that the cone which the top of the armature rides on wore away. I also managed to lose the ball bearing which the bottom of the armature presses against.

I doubt seriously if any company like Repco still has replacements so I am wondering if someone could provide me with measurements of the two parts and also tell me the type of material the wear cone was originally made from.

No U.S. Ford product from the late 70's to early 80's has a wiper motor that would interchange without a major wiring change. I haven't seen the wiper motor from the Australia built Capri to determine if it will interchange. Anyone know?

What's the chances of finding a new or used wiper motor for my XC?

XC wiper motors are plentiful here in OZ, try www.fomoco.com.au they send O.S.
