G'day all I'm a bit confused here, I have an acquaintance who has a 1978 XD
falcon with a "208 alloyhead" engine. What is this if it exists???? To my knowledge 6cyl XD's were all 250 Xflow?

XE/XF both had option of 3.3/200ci alloy head motor, early XDs had cast iron head so i doubt it would be original motor
my brother had an XF with this motor, it was so quiet when idling he acidently started it while it was already running, you couldn't hear it at the back of the car either.
the motor had no guts in lower revs but went quite well once it got moving
I haven't actually seen this motor for myself, and to my knowledge there isnt actually any markings on the block or anything he just 'knows'. So XE/XF's came with the option of the 200 (3.3l) or 250 (4.1), but early 6cyl XD's only came out as 250 with cast iron head, and later with alloy head, am I right so far? So basically if it does exist it's been dropped into his XD at some point. But I still have no idea what a 208 is lol. Idunno I have the feeling he's either talkin crap or getting confused somewhere along the line who knows

now i think about it, te cortinas'78 models also were avail with 200 cast iron head, so XD probably was optional also
i had a 202 VH comode which was bored out to a 208 60thou overbore i think, so maybe he's talking about a bored out 200 motor??
WHO CARES ANYWAY??? 200 motor ha! ha!
