What do ford chatge for a brand new rear bumper for a xe fairmont ghia (with the little chrome bit) Just a ball park figure?

Or how much can i get one for from a wrecker? Has to be pretty new looking though!!

I would expect you would be pushing it uphill to get it from ford these days......
Best bet would be to get on the phone and ring around... I think you will find they are no longer available... but you never know unless you try

I dont think ford will have the XE bumper...although as far as i know they still stock the chrome trim strip that goes into it...sell it by the metre i think??...

so if you found a second hand bumper but with rusty/missing chrome trim you could replace it!.

Although better check to see if ford still stocks the bumper and/or trim first.

try looking for a bumper bar reconditioner. My brother brought a recoed front bar for an XE a few years back, they come out very good.

Any one know of a bumper reconditioner in the western suburbs of melbourne?

Also how do you get the bastard off?? I had a look and i can only see a few bolts but i know its not as easy as that.

You've got to climb under the back of the car and there's about four large bolts on both sides (under the tail lights sort of) mine had a tow bar so it all came off in one piece which made it an awkward heavy bastard.... but you'll manage.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding a reconditioner, get out the yellow pages!
