xenon headlights

I bought some of these headlights they are 4300kelvin they appear very blue on the outside but its just normal white light. Paid about $40 from autobarn for them. I was wondering what are the legally bluest headlights you can have and what are the bluest (illegal) headlights you can have. Also is there any online shops to get them from (AU) as iv had no luck with stores.

Re: xenon headlights

I'm not sure how blue you can have them, but I have read that they must have an 'E Mark' on them somewhere, and aslong as they have that 'E Mark' on them they are legal, if they dont have ht emark, they are illegal. Sorry I can't help you more, but that all I know..

Re: xenon headlights

Drive around with the blue globes and see if you come across me. I'll give you the 540Watt signal if they're non-compliant.

Same test applies to fog and/or driving lights.

I have a small obsession with Xenon lights. I'm not interested in blue ones tho. I didn't think that was an issue with them. I love the strong but controled beam that dosn't blind you if you're outside the target area.

I haven't shopped around, but I thought they were WAY more than $40. Don't you need a 'convertor box' or some sort of mini transformer to increase to the voltage they run on? Xenon lights are like a $3000-$5000 option on Luxury cars, from what I've seen. Are there any aftermarket units sold in Australia worth putting on a car or bike?

HaHa, LOL. I like that. I think you might need the rest of the SL500 Merc or Porsche 911 AS WELL AS the Xenon lights, before any female clothing hits the floor automatically. Well, that's what being brought up by television has taught me anyways. :s6:

youre talking about the HID syste (High Intensity Discharge) and yeah there aftermarket kits entry level kits are around the 3 grand mark

i have the xenon globes in my NC's new headlights (ive got BMW 318i headlights in it) and i must say im never goin to use standard gloebs again as someone said already there not overpowering just a nice white light

as yet i havent been flashed by oncoming traffic so i doubt they would dazzle

I saw one in the auto spark's office a month or so ago. Was made by Hella and had the two ballast's, globes ,wiring ect. was worth about $1900 + installation. As for being worth it...
