XF owners ive got a coupla questions

No. 1.

The other day in traffic i was driving normally and the accelertor cable came away from the actual pedal and it all went limp. (shut up). Now ive shat myself as im in traffic on main road and luckily i got it to a side street. Had a look at the cable and it seems that the only thing holding the pedal to the cable is a tiny rubber "thing" that i hastily shoved back into place. Took it to the mechanic for some work and he said he had a look at it and nothing was wrong......i know that the way it is attached is just not right, its fuc.king flimsy as....hipefully im worng but anyone know what im talking about here, any help?

I assume the accelerator pedal got stuck on the floor?

That has happened to me in an auto XE. It was the trans cable that had become frayed and stuck, this wouldn't allow the accelerator to return.

It's a sphincter puckering experience.
