im looking at getting my efi 250 out of my xf rebuilt. im just wondering if anyone has any prices on a rebuild and what $1200 would get me. if its not to expensive i wouldnt mind getting a bit of work done but im not sure on prices of things any info would be appreciated

Manual or Auto gearbox behind your motor, when I got mine rebuilt I had an auto XF, i got a cam to give more power down low as I always felt it was missing something in that area.

its a 4 speed manual with 2.77 diff but i think i will change the ratio in the diff as well. How much was the cam and how much did it improve the performance

Are you looking at a full rebuild or just something for more performance?
Cams are usually around $250-300.

full rebuild plus a bit of extra work eg cam

If your doing the work yourself you will be okay but if not i dont see you getting much done for $1200
RPM engines sell stock reco's for 1900 and mild ones for 2200 not fitted.
The EFI system apparently doesnt handle extensive mods either. You will need an aftermarket computer to deal with the changes.
If your doing the work yourself you can buy an ACL race series rebuild kit for around $600, you get flat top pistons and I think a better cam with it.
