MY dual fuel '86 Fairmont did a head gasket so i fixed that, but in the process i noticed that the ERG valve had been deliberately blocked off (i think) from the manifold. Where i assume there would be a gasket between the ERG and the manifold, there is what looks like a gasket with no holes, so the gases cant re enter the manifold. has it been blocked for a reason? or was it a mistake from the previous owner who might have done the LPG conversion himself.... my car idles fine but seriously lacks midrange power. i thought that the LPG was the reason for that, but i drove my mates which is identical and his is noticeably zippier then mine. is this something i should be concerned about or should i just accept i have a very tired old XF haha

hey mate blocking of the egr is a performance mod usualy it will gain bout 10% more power. it shouldnt affect anyrunning aspect of the car but will cause more immisions to be let out the exhaust. lpg is not a good fuel unless used with relitively high compressions so if your engine is old and your rings are worn the car will usualy lack power on lpg.

thanks for that, just making sure a didnt have a serious potential problem. i'll check the rings and compression if i can be bothered. but i'd probably come accross more issues. thanks heaps for your help.
