XH snorkal?

Hey guys is the XH snorkal worth it ive heard theres no diffrence power wise. Does it make more noise like can ya hear the diffrenece in sound? would it do any damage to the engine coz of more air?

The snorkel is only $30. There isnt any induction noise that is noticeable with the bonnet up or down. But more air into the system certainly doesnt hurt the engine. This coupled with a KN filter will make the car breathe better in any case. I have done this mod like many EA-EB owners and its not anything to stress over hurting the engine. More response down low, little better overtaking at 100km and bit better fuel economy. If you want better results...add some extractors.

I bought an XH snorkle just the other day for my EA Ghia, I havent go the K&N filter yet, but I have noticed that throttle response is improved, and makes the car feel better to drive.
Cost me about 35 from ford.


I did put something here, but it vanshied, I think

XH snorkle

I bought one of these for the ED XR6.
IMO no difference.
At their respective narrowest points, the cross-sectional area (25 sq cm as I recall) of the XH snorkle is the same as the ED one.
The ED one would work better as the narrowest section is at the front and it widens from there.
The XH snorkle has a constant cross section (25 sq cm) through about 40% of it's length.

What did make a difference was fitting an EA intake tube.
Noticed a "snappier" throttle response and no noticeable additional induction noise.

I left the XH intake on as it fit better with the EL thermos.

The XR family ---->
Muzza: a XR8 AU seriesIII...bog standard :)
TBH: (the better half) drives an ED XR6 wagon (Mock Dev 4 160rwkw, JMM extractors, 4 electric windows, Ghia door panels in XR trim, rear head & arm rests in XR trim, Momo s/wheel with Cruise, EL thermos, EBGT wheels, etc) things to come soon = EECV upgrade.

noticed a huge difference in my ed fairmont as the original snorkel opening was less than half the size no joke.. The k&n panel i put in as well also helped there
