hey all, i have an xh, and the thermos won't work. I have tested the relays and they are all fine, and tested the fans and they work. After turing the a-con on the fans don't start either. Any suggestions?

Is the engine actually overheating?

Might be stating the obvious here, but they don't on unless the engine is hot

Hi. The Ute is actually my brothers ute. But anyway. It is overheating. The fans just wont cut in. Even when temp gets hot.

I think they are turned on by the ECU. With either AC or engine temp.

It sounds like the ECU is faulty.

Hi. We got a result with the fans.
This is going to sounds stupid, but here goes...
The ute is a manual, and so not long after i got it, i needed a fuse, so i took the fuse from the auto trans. I have recently found out that the fuse for the thermo fans is also the fuse for the auto trans.
So i have been travelling without thermo fans for quite a while, but have never noticed it.

ROFL. That's just plan silly not to have a fuse for the trans anyway. You would have been better to use one of the spares there or the one for the interior light, horn etc. No trans computer will hurt the trans.

Brendan, its understandable that he would have pulled the auto trans fuse on a manual car. Easy tiger!
