cool xh utes


just wantnig to get some opinions on whether you guys would buy a 96 XH longreach that has aruond 239,000kms on it. It's in great condition and I'm interested in buynig it but Id like to get a few other opinions from more experienced drivers/buyers.

So...any help much appreciated!

239,000kms for a 96 car is high, but if it's in great condition like u say, then the kms don't really matter. Try to find out about its history too; what it was used for.

I'd rather buy a squeaky clean & reco'd ex-taxi than a filthy beat up equivalent model with low kms.


Try to find some XH members in the E-Series section, coz they might be able to help you with identifying common problems, etc.

My XH is a 97 model and already has very close to 200k kays on it. Its been driven fairly hard for the last 40k kays of my ownership and so far the only prob was the blown head gasget 2 weeks after buying it. That said, they all do it around 140-160k kays so I imagine this XH has been there and done that.

As long as the coolant has been kept upto it, the engine and gearbox have been serviced regularly and its in good condition, about the only side effect of the kays will be the price. :s4
