351 w into te cortina - Ford Forums

hi my name is dion , i live in brisbane and i am building up
a te cortina.
i seem to be having a little trouble with the fitting and cooling side
of things of the 351 windsor.
i would really like to run the original fan setup if possible but the 351 water pump seems to be too long. ie extension housing that the fan bolts to will be sitting in where the radiator wants to be ( i have started with the 6cyl model
which has the cut out section in the front support panel)
any suggestions/ help or if you have done or seen this conversion before

I dont know if the 351 has a different water pump to the 302?? I have used the CRS engine mounts and they do make the water-pump sit very close to the radiator. It is not likely to can use a standard fan... I have a thermo mounted on the front side of the radiator. Another option is to run an electric water-pump which could give you more room? What other info do you need?

I have TE engineered with a 351w using CRS mounts and had the same problem. The way i got around it was to use a Davis Graig electric water pump and a thermo fan on the front of the radiator. CRS used to make a shortened water pump for ford v8 not sure if they still do, Maybe you could give them a try.
