Braided hose installation

Has anyone got some tips on installing braided hose. What product is recomended on helping the hose slip onto the braiding, without having any corrosive side effects.
The people packing these products don't do you any favours!!

Re: Braided hose installation

silicon lube or plain old boring soap and water. the last time i did it i used hair spray cos it works like a lubricant when it's wet and dries like a mild glue which is good for making the ends neat. dont know what effect it has on the braiding long term, short term it's fine.
