Question Convert 1975TD 4CYL Cortina to 302w

I have a my hands on a One owner extremly straight TD cortina.Every thing is orignal never done a hard days work. It has sat for a few years doing nothing. Iwant to put a 302w into it. I recon it would be the perfect project car or would i be just fighting a up hill battle ?

Can anyone help me with any info for a full conversion. My only concern was the tunnel for the transmission. Have heard you can have a few problems.

I see that a few of you have done a simlar conversion just thought you could point out any stumbling blocks.

Any info would be a great help.

Re: Convert 1975TD 4CYL Cortina to 302w

i just picked up a TC that had a windsor conversion done years ago (minus engine and box).. from what i can see théy've had to 'massage' the tranny tunnel to make room for the starter. other then that it all looks normal. a gear reduction starter is a lot smaller in size, so it may fit without the use of a hammer :) I think it originally had a c4, then it had a powerglide in it before i got it, so i know they fit.
