Hi everyone.

Just browsing through some web sites and came across this disturbing image. It is a crash site prepared by a NSW highway patrol officer.

I only post this as it reminded me of my cousin who was killed in a XD Falcon a few years back. Unfortunately he took out two other people in a holden as well.

Makes ya think, we spend so much money on our cars yet can loose it all through one act of stupity! :dead:

Jeepers, that website really shook me awake.
Maybe I shouldn't save up for that DEV5 kit.
I lost control of my car before, luckely I got away with it without
a scratch on me (and my younger brother).
I took him out one night and told him how perfectly sideways I
could take this corner. When I got up there I floored into this
corner went down the street fully accelerating, into another bend
and that's when I started snakeying and lotst control.
I slided sideways against the kerb, my front wheel was totally
collapsed bottom inwards. I was lucky it was a high kerb, and not
one of those kerbs that are on a diagonal, otherwise I would've
crashed into a stobeypole that was right in front of me.
I hate to picture the consequences of that happening.
Since then I've been taking things a lot easier.
The car I was driving was a ED Falcon (the one I still drive now)
and is really easy to lose control over on high speeds. It handles
like a boat.

All I can say is, try and think of the consequences before you pull
a silly stunt in your car . Accidents can happen to anybody,
anywhere and at any time. Don't consider yourself as an exception.

Don't worry about getting the Dev5 kit..worry about driving responsibly. A powerful car is not a worry unless you drive like a fool with it.
Ban Low Performance Drivers Not High Perfornce Cars is the saying I believe!
Closet I have come to being killed was being hit by a 6cyl cortina doing about 100kmh in a 100 zone..

jeez...thats harsh stuff...why would someone keep this stuff on the homepage though?..what are these the accidents he has been to??...im sue the families are wrapped about this!!

I think it's good to be occasionally reminded that these horror scenarios are so common. I'd feel a thousand times safer pottering along like a granny in my EA Fairmont than being a passenger to a loony driver in a Mercedes S Class. As for a high performance car with limited safety in combination with an over-confident driver, it's a recipe for disaster.
