Re: glove box gotta go!!!

Nah well back then I didn't have kids. Now with 2 boys under 21/2 I wouldn't be able to use it and it was TOOO bloody slow. Plus my 2 yr old loves going out the Cortina when once in a blue moon it comes out of the shed. That'll change when the new heads go on. Trying to save all the money I can for the new heads.

Re: glove box gotta go!!!

Nah don't miss the stereo at all. The wifes/our daily driver is a 96VS Commodore with a few little mods, still lacking power in my books. Next will be an BA XR8 "one day"

Re: glove box gotta go!!!

Yeah I suppose if you only drive the corty on weekends and what not, you would be more than happy just listening to the 302.

I didnt realise it wasnt your daily. But for a daily I would absolutely need a stereo, or at least a radio of some description.

Re: glove box gotta go!!!

Here's a few scans of the Stereo car. The boot was changed from pictured to one 6 channel Kicker amp (mounted under clear lexan) which we re painted to match the install and re covered in grey vinyl, we also repainted the subs, headunit (ash tray removed and replaced with a KENWOOD EQ headunit moulded into the dash) etc. Even though it was for sound quallity it still belted out 145db with a few adjustments of the EQT's (mounded into the rear side tims/much fun to do "NOT")

Re: glove box gotta go!!!

Wow! looks like a lot of effort went into that. I would never have guessed in a million years that you used to own a car like that (judging by the 302w td that you have at the moment.)

They just seem to be polar opposites. And even that is a bit of an understatement!

Did you do anything to the motor of the excell? Just curious, why did you change from an excell to a cortina?

Re: glove box gotta go!!!

It had extractors and sports exhaust, splitfire plugs, custom cold air pickup and a powerchip, for a Excel it didn't go that bad I got just over 200 out of it 5th on limiter. Well the car before it was a high 13 sec Mk2 Escort which i lost my licence in twice so the XL was something to try and get me out of fast cars. Then I woke up to myself and fcked it off and lost heaps of money. The stereo was valued at more then it cost to build the Cortina. It helped knowing the installer very well all was done after hours. I can't find the finished boot pic it looked much better. Once we finished the stereo I sold it. Never again. I'll stick to building engines then stereos.
