hub caps; your choice!

Ok, whats better the originals or the $20.00 k-mart specials? I got sick of cleaning the originals and they are scratched and dented to the hilt anyway. The new ones look a bit like there off a hyundai excell or something, but hey I finally got a 5 stud pattern.......sick. I know, I know just get some real wheels but no cash. They dont look that bad.........do they?

The plastic just look wrong. Too modern. Stick with the originals, they at least make the car look like a excellent example of a stocky.

On a budget I like SAAB 15" steels with dress rims. But my rear dress rims lasted 5 minutes when it first got on the road. It took me 15 minutes to find the bloody things. But yes the stockies do look better.
Cheers Brett

What are dress rims? Are they hub caps?

I have seen the saab 'interceptor style' (heaps of 20 piece sized holes running around the rim) rims and I dont really like em. I would imagine that you could just put hub caps on them if you wanted to. Is this what you mean? Or are their other even cheaper saab 15" rims?

I will try the wreckers for the saabs. But I just got new tyres for the 13's, damn!

thanks for the help.

Re: hub caps; your choice!

im gonna be different and say the KMart specials look better....why? because the stockies make it look like a grandma car and the plastics just make it look not so old person.
thats my thoughts.
cant beat alloys though!

i have to agree with davway. it goes against all my beliefs but i reckon the plastic ones look better. gives it a bit individuality.

Re: hub caps; your choice!

Dress rims are little chrome rims that press on just around the outer edge, it stilll leaves the centre on show still. And fall off very easy at 7000rpm...

Re: hub caps; your choice!

I have ditched the hubcaps, they just looked a bit too girly for my liking. So I have spray painted the wheels gloss black and arnt running any hubcaps at all. They came out pretty good and havent chipped at all after a week or so. But even if they do it would take 2 seconds to fix up. Ill try and get some photos up soon and you can tell me what you think.

You need a set of Ghia rims for it.
