Re: hub caps; your choice!

Nah I didnt know that. But I must admit the thought has crossed my mind before when looking at porche wheels.

A tc with porche wheels... you would have to laugh. But id run em for that reason.

Alright here is a pic with the black wheels. They are pretty dusty/dirty now. They were lookin heaps better when I first did it.

What do you guys recon? Better than the originals and hubcaps, or not?

Re: hub caps; your choice!

hey thats a good idea. It reeks of effort though with the masking of the tyres, unlike black of course.

Yeah I can see they only look alright now. They are like matt black now (because they are dirty). When they were clean it was this shiny gloss black, much better. But I cbf cleaning my wheels every week.

Re: hub caps; your choice!

you dont need to mask the tyres at all. just spray the silver on the rims then grab a rag and wipe off the over spray from the tyre while its still wet. easy as!!

Re: hub caps; your choice!

yep that sounds pretty easy. I might have to give it a go. I think your right, the silver would look better and would stay looking better even when a little dirty.

Re: hub caps; your choice!

Next time new tyres come up ill be looking at the saabs in a big way. But I just got brand new tyres on all fours about 3 months ago, so ill have to be content with what I got for now.

How much do you recon a good set of the saabs (without tyres) would cost from the wreckers? Is it just the one style of saabs that you can run or are there a few different ones?

I am going to paint my wheels silver this weekend, so wish me luck. Pics will be up soon.

Re: hub caps; your choice!

Ok, I painted the rear wheel silver the other day. It looks great from about 2 metres back, but when you get up close you can really see runs in the paint. The runs were there from when I painted the wheels black. I didnt care about the runs because you couldnt see em with the black, but now you can.

So I am a bit undecided as to whether I want to paint them all silver or paint the silver one back to black.

The silver looks real nice in the pic, but in real life its a bit of a different story.
