Re: ideas to do up my TE cort ghia ( 250 c/f)

iv seen 12 slotters on plenty of cortys i think the suit them really well if ur on a budget just borrow 1 of ur mates angle grinders n chop a few inches of ur old ones its illegal but cheap.

i guess it has the borg warner auto in it cos there shit the easiest thing 2 do is buy another corty with a 250 n manual cos there cheap with rusted body or damage n take the box clutch pedal box tail shaft n that drop it in urs get an alloy head from the wreckers cos they bolt sraight on with the xf manifold n webber n they go pretty good!

Re: ideas to do up my TE cort ghia ( 250 c/f)

Gidday.

Been into Cortina's for years now, had a slew of mkII's and III's (TC) now have a mkV Ghia (TE). Haven't seen any 12slots on Cortina's here ... but then again we don't have many 6cyl ones on this side of the ditch.

Yeah, the 12 slots generally come out in 14" and the 205's should fit nicely, they do on the standard rostyles on the 4cyl models.

Good luck with your mods. What you want to do is first decide what you want to do, then research it. It's gutting to drop a pile of cash on something only to find it doesn't work. Cheers.

Re: ideas to do up my TE cort ghia ( 250 c/f)

hey i just put a holley (350, large venturis) on my TE 1979 with a 3.3L x flow (200cui), have extractors and a 2in exhaust. its got way better response and nice torque, but am hampered by pinging at the bottom end when i floor it (distributor advance stuffd, to be fixd).

is it worth me spending anything else on this car you guys reckon? only 179,000 kms.... but she blows a lil oil when i start her warm (slightly worn valve seats).

should i get the valve seats done and a better cam or anything?
