here's a pic off mine.............
Finally found those pics, now these are pre digital camera days so excuse the quality. The first one was the one used in Street Machine and the others are from a Show n Shine next to Punt Rd Footy Oval, Richmond, Vic.

The 245s rubbed a bit when I had it sitting real low, had to raise it. Was not legal at one stage so I had to put on 225s to pass for reg.

Re: lowering 1978 cortina - shortened shocks

That is one VERY nice te cortina. What sort of motor/running gear does it have?
Gotta love the chrome boot/bonnet hinge type things. Nice touch.

Re: lowering 1978 cortina - shortened shocks

Thanks Guys. A loty of blood, sweat n tears there. You all know the story.

The colour is Honda Integra Tarino Red Pearl, still looks as if it was only sprayed yesterday. The painters did an awesome job.

The motor is a 2Lt bored to 2.3Lt, ported, polished, flowed head, 32mm & 38mm valves???, Ford Works camshaft, Vernier camwheel, h/duty springs etc etc. Bottom end all toughened up with Cosworth shotpeened rods, works crankshaft, porsche pistons, brass button tonner clutch, lightened flywheel, blueprinted etc etc. Trans is a Supra 5 speed, Holden 1 Tonner tailshaft, 4.11 diff gears. Feeding the motor are twin 48mm IDF Webbers through a Ford Works manifold. Dynoed @ just over 200rwhp.

The motor was originally a short term project untill I ordered in a Cosworth 16V Twin Cam head to bolt on with an EFI turbo kit. But that never eventuated and the car remained the same.

Its up for sale by the end of the year. Anyone interested PM me.

Re: lowering 1978 cortina - shortened shocks

Sounds great. Did you ever get it down the strip?

Its a bit of a shame you never got the cosworth efi turbo happening, it would have beeen an all out rager.

Re: lowering 1978 cortina - shortened shocks

No I haven't but raced a few friends then with low 14sec cars and we were even most times. So I would expect mid 14s down the qtr mile. Not that I condone street racing.

I will have to go up against my T one day to see how she fairs now.

Yeh, I know the Cosworth turbo kit was rated @ 250kw in stock form! $10k at the time. Now ?????
