ok, I'm not too crash hot on the mechanical know how of cars...yet that is. My corty is running like sh**! It idles really rough, it's missing, sounds like its sucking air and leaking petrol where the carby joins to the manifold.

What I've done so far is put on a new gasket where the carby and manifold go, but it wasn't broken in the first place.
Checked all plugs and leads, they are alright, but the contact is pretty crappy so that will be replaced.
It will be gettiing a carby kit as well, won't hurt it to do that.

It used to have a crack in the manifold but that was fixed up.

It barely ever gets driven, only up and down the driveway and down the block road as it's not registered yet, and has never had over a 1/4 of a tank of fuel since I've had it.

A suggestion has been made that the fuel could be dirty, and thats why it's running like it is, and it needs to be driven more, they are both probably true but to me that doesn't explain the missing and the leaking.

Does anyone have any suggestions?!

if you think it has a vacuum leak... spray WD40 over the manifold while the engine is running, if the revs pickup you've found your leak...

That aint the problem, bugger!

The drag car is getting a new distributor so i get the one thats on it now, which is pretty good, it's an electric one so thats another little improvement!
