Re: Turbo Manifold 6cyl Tf

Find out what they're worth first. I have a Turbo Manifold for a cast or alloy head 4.1L.
Pics tomorrow !!!

Re: Turbo Manifold 6cyl Tf

I had one made by Mike Vine Turbo's.... Not the best design but more than suitable. Cost me just on a 1K. Wouldn't use him again though. Workmanship was less than excellent but was functional.

Re: Turbo Manifold 6cyl Tf

I thought Mike Vine bought all the original Normalair Garrett turbo strata kits ??? This is a genuine manifold to suit XC-XF iron or alloy head. Thick and heavy not like the sh*t AIT thin as cast manifolds for the EA. I am trying to find someone who makes a cheap adapter to suit the XD manifold onto the ED head ???

Re: Turbo Manifold 6cyl Tf

If going for a mild setup the Garret Manifold shown there by Clevo400 is a goer. It is a good split pulse design and the runner sizes etc are great for upto 400 rwhp with good boost response. They also use the garrett style external wastegate and the full size T04 flange turbo with top mount design and good access to all the bolts.

The only problem I see there is getting a Garrett external gate to suit can be expensive. It might pay to make a vee band adapter plate so a cheaper gate can be used or try to find another maker who also have Vee band inlets on their gates.

The garrett manifold there also sits the turbo nice and close to the engine and far enough forward to clear the brake master cylinder etc.

The only better option than that Garrett manifold is a custom manifold and then again I have seen a lot of custom manifolds which would be less effective than the one shown. The only reason to go a custom manifold over the one shown would be if you're chasing big top end power and low down boost response was not an issue.

Re: Turbo Manifold 6cyl Tf

What r the Garrett manifolds worth now ??? This is new (made in 1982 though) and has sat in a turbo workshop for 12 years then I bought it and have had it for 10 years also. Hey I'm in Brissy until next week but the manifold is in Rocky.
