v8 for a mark 2 corty

ok, you may have seen my car in the gallery, anyway...the plan is to build another one (ive already sourced a body) with a blown v8, now this has been done many times, however im after abit of help choosing an engine, i want something sort of new, with alloy block preferrably.

i can get a guarenteed 10 second engine from my mechanic for $10,000 not a bad way to spend 10 grand, any suggestion will help, at this point im at the drawing board

cheers steve

Lexus V8 import from japan?

302 windsor with alloy heads would be easier IMO.

I would stay with a Ford motor and go for a 302w with Alloy heads, or a 4.6 Mustang Cobra motor which are all alloy but may have a bit of trouble fitting in.

I think you will only have room for a 302w - I'd stroke it to 347 personally - you may wish to add a monte carlo bar across the the body in front of the shock towers or the poor little corty towers might start slowly collapsing inwards under the weight and torque
