Re: your cortina what mods

Where are all the old school corty's there must be some around or is ith just a late model thread?? anyway mine is a 66 MK1 240 standard 1500 precrossflow standard head and cam i think, twin webbers off the lotus, 2 1/4 inch 4-2-1 exhaust, remote 4 speed shift(was original auto) lotus colours, bumpers the whole look. tune wise well its for street and im getting 9.5/10.5litres per 100k or 15L per 100 mile on optimax.

cool Re: your cortina what mods

Hi!My name is George I 'm living in Greece and I own a Mk III cortina L 1300cc '73. I've made some mods but in my country is very difficult to mod cortinas. They don't know anything about these cars. I 've throw too much money to modify it and I can't finish my project. My mods are:
Engine : 2L Pinto
Gearbox : Sierra's 5-Speed
Axle : 2-Litre 3.44:1
Brakes : std with 2 Litre rear drums
Suspensions : 1" droped springs with Koni Adjustables (Special Red)
Chassis : Needs Bodywork!!! I've open arches because wheels didn't fit
Wheels : 13" Rs 4-spokes 7"(wide) with Toyo 600-F3 205/60/13
My ENGINE isn't std I've made some mods:
Head : Injections Unleaded edition mod to Stage 3 with oversized valves
Camshaft : Kent FR32 (Complete Cam Kit)
Block : skimmed 1.5mm and oversized to 93mm
Pistons : 93mm V6 pistons
conrod : from 205 block
Crank : Lightened and balanced
Flywheel : Lightened and balanced
clutch : Sport type
Intake : twin weber DCOE 45s with 36mm chokes
Exhaust : Custom made 4-2-1 manifold and 2 silencers (2,1/2")
Ignition : Std electronic Motorcraft ignition with Splitfire wire set
Pump : Electric type

I'm planning to fit Weber's ALPHA kit with my DCOE and a pair of thicker antiroll bars.
Soon I'm going to sent a Picture of my car!!!

Re: your cortina what mods

Hey George welcome to the forums. Sounds like you got a real nice mk3 there, especially with the 5 speed. Is it a 2 or 4 door car? Looking foreward to seeing your photos.

cool Re: your cortina what mods

My cortina is a 4-door model. As I said before it needs bodywork immediatly I's planning to paint it with subaru impreza's blue color and to fit tint windows.
I believe that it's going very well!!! I 've made a test and te result was that until 105mph(170km/h) I was standing next to a Honda CiViC VTi '99(mods:air filter,ECU programmed,Sport exhaust and an americat) we start with 2nd gear and 15mph(20km/h)!!!! with 4th gear I have over 120+mph(200+km/h)!!!!!!!

one of these days I'll sent some pics

My mail is madmaxptt@hotmail.com
