another XF turbo thread... sorry

yeah i've already looked and i can't really find much info about it.

so i've bought an xf... real cheap and wouldn't mind making it into something different to whats around so how about a turbo on an efi motor?
what modifications do i have to make to the TB for the conversion?
what about the computer??? will it cope??
what are some ideas about exhaust manifolds??
what else should i be on the look out for?

you can do it two ways, build yourself a stock motor with a decomp plate or spend $$$$ and build yourself a killer engine, such as forged pistons, rods, head work, cam etc.

The standard computer wont do, aftermarket is the way to go.

Genuine AIT manifolds still can be found in the trading post, or you can get onto an exhaust shop or some who specialises in turbo manifolds to knock one up for ya, wont be cheap thou.

Other things you should look out for are, intercooler costs, radiator(bigger one needed) fuel pumps, injectors, gearbox, diff, etc.

ok but still does the throttle body need modification?
what about O2sensor or Air flow meter???

dont worry about throttle bodies or afm's now

worry about how much the turbo is going to cost. which turbo. manifold cost. intercooler fitting etc.

Why do you ask??

Also you could turbo your stock motor but using a standard computer is a ticking time bomb. An analogue Microtech Digi would even be better and they are very primative.

why because everbody always talks about how big the turbo that there going to get is and then thats it, what bout all the other technical stuff that goes with it?
