hi ppls, just wondering if anyone installed a ss induction cold air system in their car. if so, did u noticed any improved performance and what sort of increase of power is there.
There is one made by Aunger also that is identical to the SS inductions one (old design not new) and is $205. Im assuming you own an EF onwards as that is the only things these fit. If you want something cheaper look at the tickford ones or the Xr6 turbo one.
i put one on my AU2 XR8 about a year ago, and did find it was more responsive down low. But up in the higher revs if there is any difference, its not much
its not worth the cost to get the ss inductions imo
a ts-50 snorkel and a ef airbox with a k&n panel filter and a 3 inch pipe from air box to throttle can be had for the price of one of those ss induction set ups.
and give ya simular power increase plus looking better.
i think you will find that its only a snorkel if anything
I found on www.fordmods.com they have an article on how to change your existing snorkel to an auxr8 snorkel. I rang SS Inductions, they ask over $200 for their snorkel, Ford only ask $26.
It has the same mouth opening and all, and least it has a sexy tickford logo.
im a holden parts manager, when the vs ser II came out it had cold air induction on the 5.0, and 3.8 v6. i sold squillions of them, and there pretty cheap. Within months of these being released a new company called SS inductions was selling their cold air induction kits. when compared they were exactly the same, but their had their name moulded in to it.
ss inductions kit approx $250
genuine GMH approx $60
I have a SS induction. I did make a difference in the mid range to low. But I also have a 3 inch mandrel bent pipe, KnN and a tricked up air box. I think people overlook their air intakes.
