Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

Yes confusing but I guess the "next" generation XR6 will have some more development in this area...

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

yeah thats right the interview was actully on autospeed and was stolen illegally from there and posted here.
Yes they did completly remove the butterflys on the Xr6T as they found they had no andvantage on the XR6T.
It's been noted to get mega power out of the motor the XR6t normally gets a custom inlet manifold (nizpro setup) which tells me the current manifold while excellent for NA power is not that good for turbo.
Either make a custom one (you'd be supprised how well the crude looking box manifolds work) or use the EA-ED MPFI manifold.
Better piping and shorter total runner lenghth.

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

So your going to use the EA/D one? I might be on the look out for one soonish. Or trade my EF one for an EA/D one. Im sure one of the NA boys would like that swap.

Out of curiousity does anyone know why the Nizpro manifold has shorter runners on the rear cylinder compared to the front?

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

Is there any diffrence between the EA EB ED manafolds? Iv heard somwehere that the ED one has slightly larger runners, as in 1mm larger. Is it waranted paying extra, or speinding more time getting an ED one over an EA/B one??

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

I have an ED one here at home still if you want it (for money that is)
Yeah I'll be using the current manifold rather than the EF ones.
From what I've seen there is no differance but I couldn't say if it's only 1mm.

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

Has anyone actually opened up a BA turbo manifold to look inside, because i dare to say that i doubt ford just took out the butterflys, as that would leave a small plenium with rather short runners, and is the same as what you get at over 4000RPM in an EF onwards, from dyno tests we have done, we found that more power was made when the butterflys where shut on turbo'd cars up to approx 6000RPM, at 5000RPM by opening the butterfly's on my car it losed 17rwkw's. And with them open, massive lose in bottom end touque, i think that the inside of the BA Turbo manifold might by a little different to a EF/EL.
