Actually the EA/ED manifold is roughly the same lenght as the short runners on a BBM. The long runners on the BBM are nearly twice as long as the EA/ED manifold.

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

so would pinging be a problem if an EA/D manafold is to be used on an engine running EL ECU

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

you would no doubt have to get it tuned anyways so when that is done it should not ping,

the ea -ed manifold is in the middle of the bbm short and long runners in terms of length.

cheers.joe.

Thats exactly what im running, and the only time it does ping is after an ECU reset, and over 4500 rpm.

After a week or two, the pinging stops (due to knock sensor)

I dont know how much base timing im running as i cant get the ecu into Self Test mode for some unknown reason, but the mark is around 25 ish degrees at idle,

The EB manifold and EL Ecu, as much base timing as you can will wake up the bottom end, but will cause pinging up top. I might use a BTM to give me a bit of boost retard later on.

Re: Best I6 manafold for force feading.

The EA-ED manifold onto a EF onwards motor would hit the air conditioning compressor wouldn't it? As the air compressor sits slightly higher, can it be simply moved down and bolted on where the EA's have it or does this require a longer belt to do so?
