I have bought my turbo, I bought it in january. It is a 600HP unit similar to the ones on the new XR6 turbo (different compresser housing). 3 weeks ago I bought an EB to put it on, now I am saving up for a manifold and all the other bits and pieces. I should be able to buy the manifold next week but it is my girlfriends 21st next week as well. So maybe it will have to wait until the week after.
It will be on straight gas and only running 7 pounds to begin with.
Hopefully it will net me flat 13's on the quarter.

Very slowly building the engine to take the Turbo/supercharger at the moment (still undecided which I want). The funding has dried up, dam house! Time for a pay rise!
Im looking at it as a long term plan atm.
But may change my mind.
currently pricing stuff, and looking at other ways to go.
Main problem is insurance, as know one would insure me. And i think the risk is a little to big atm. So i may go the n/a route. will have decided pretty soon what im doing... i hope

I could fit into either of the first 2 categories... buying a few bits doesn't mean it's ready for installation. But I too am viewing it as a long term project. It is easy to buy a car which is already fast, but I'd gain a lot more enjoyment out of taking on the best of the imports in something True Blue™.
i would love too turbo my XR but right at the moment i am in two minds... i really wanna do a 351 XE Fairmont ghia/ESP project and i have the perfect donor car ready to be bought, so im not sure. i will probably go the 351 but as for the xr im just probably gonna put a cam and the like in it.
