my EA is the urr old carbi job , and its well a 2 barrel , now would whacking on a 4 barrel , from maybe an X series be better or worse ? or is it better to try and get something different for power? keeping in mind i wanted to keep the $$$ not to high ... cos supercharging on an EA would be pointless and cost me too many pretty pennies :) any help would be great thanx !!

The EA never had a carby, what you have is CFI, 'central fuel injection', which has a twin throttle plate with 2 injectors. It works quite well, but isn't performance orientated by any stretch.

The best solution for you is to convert it to a multi point injected set up which uses 6 seperate injectors with a common largish throttle body.

These days they are plentiful around the wrecking yards and should only cost you a few hundred dollars.
