A friend is looking at a suposed EA factory turbo and i have never heard of such a beast has anyone else. If so what are they like and what should you pay for one?

Ea 6 cylinder engines were a heap of crap anyway! as if they made a turbo option!!!! They couldnt keep the head gaskets up to the standard engines, yet alone a turbo one! Your mate is pulling your leg!
Oh, and i had an EA fairmont Ghia for my first car.
As for buying an Ea turbo, the price could be worked out by the recycled value of the alloy head added to the recycled value of the rubber turbo hoses!!!

But even around 200 would be awsume for an EA. My friend is under the impresion that there were six hundred of these animals produced But the one he is looking at is only $6000. That in my opinon is to cheap for a car from a limited run with that sort of extra unless its stuffed.

People who have Continued head gasket problems fall into two groups, people who know nothing about cars, and people who do it on the cheap. My EA turbo makes 550hp with standard head gasket and have had no problems. You need to check head and deck for warping and have them machined, use only genuine gasket and new head bolts and torque correctly, Hylomar should be sprayed on gasket before installing. No EA Falcon left the factory with a turbo and AIT had 3 stages

Yea 200 is a lot for what was probably the lightest falcon ever produced. Fun can be had with less!
Many cars are produced in limited runs, few achieve infamy like GTs and dont get high prices since noone really knows about em or cares.
From what i understand AIT and SVO had an arrangement with Ford sort of like the FPV/Tickford relationship where Ford drives the cars in and the company waves its magic over the car.
Make sure you do get a good look at it and imagine yourself driving it everyday as i would personally take an EF anyday over an EA.
And see if they are providing RWC for it, if so then its a good bet it is genuine, unless theyve gotten an engineers certificate although i think it owuld be makin more power if that was the case.
By the way, if he has any documentation to prove who made it then can you pleas scan and upload it as it may be very useful to us EA turbo guys in regards to registration.
