Hey guys: i need some help here. I am planning for a turbo application for the EB. I am looking into getting an ACL race series kit (pistons, rings, bearing etc etc), a Garret T04Z (i think this turbo runs ball bearing, not fluid), i think its rated between 330-700 hp, which means it could run more than 400 kw which is more than enough power for my needs.

So with this in mind, i have strong internals, and the turbo charger. What i need, is advice and lists of things that will be needed for the application. (example- intercooler- what type, if i need new fuel pump and all those fiddley's).

For a start how much rear wheel KW are you expecting
>150KW @rw brakes, LSD, suspension, 2.5in exhaust
>170KW @rw fuel system (injectors, pump, computer, regulator)
>220KW @rw manual trans rebuild, 3in exhaust
>250KW @rw auto trans rebuild, intercooler
>300KW @rw diff rebuild, bottom end rebuild, 3.5 in exhaust

Its going to cost a lot more than you expect!

Main expenses are ecu and turbo which would run into $5k...
Then atleast Walbro 255 intank fuel pump.. from $180
Injectors atleast 42 Lb or 450 cc
A Hybrid intercooler is o/k..Not top line..But at $300 to $600
can't go wrong..
Then there's some welding especially on hot side
$900 or so for exhaust manifold...
Cold side can be done with s/steel pipe and cylicon bends...
Depends how you drive but fit bloody good oil coolers on auto and take it to
auto guy to raise line pressure...
Std Ford diffs are strong enough...A mini spool does wanders on narrow street tyres....
Good tune will keep your engine alive, almost as long as a std engine driven repectively....

cheers mate. I am aiming for around 300kw, give or take a bit. With that in mind, what prices do you think i'll be looking at, on a whole, round 10 grand??? - providing my uncle does all the rebuilds and turbo install for free, i only have to pay for a professional tune and shit. What do you guys think, and what other little things would i need???

get the ACL 3.9L 20thou over kit then just hone 3thou out. Thats secondhand info so makesure you ask your engine builder about that. $10k would be a good guess. depends on if you want to buy new or second hand.

ecu
megasquirt is a very cheap computer but needs a bit of diy. the EMS range are great but more expensive.

injectors
seconhand magna or hsv are much cheaper than new bosch ones.

Auto shift kit
about $20 diy

map sensor
bov
wastegate
plumbing
fuel pump
cam
valves

Full of it!!! There's NO BLOODY way 24 LB injectors are going to make 300 rwkw and be safe..You need atleast 42's...You can get away with 36 Lb at 15 Lb boost with 2 to 1 rising rate fuel reg or FMU....same thing...
You can buy injectors from www.corral.net Or www.turbomustangs.com for around $300.00 you'll have buy 8...That'll be $400 posted here...

Use an ecu thats boost referenced..EMs 8860 / Haltech E11..Anything costing less won't have the brains to pass epa....

With injectors- from what most people have told me 42lb injectors are my best bet.

Turbo-wise i think im going to go with the GT t04Z (ball bearing).

What are my options with turbo exhaust manifolds?????

Also about the Cam, can't i just get it re-ground and balanced or what ever it is, do i need a new cam??? (ps: i'd probably be running an absolute maximum of 21psi boost).

Yes it can be done, but its not the correct way...
Doubling them up changes impedance...

Settle down !!! I was also told Magna/HSV (Bosch Blue 775) or Mazda (Bosch Pink) injectors would do the trick. Cheaper than buying new as most wreckers wouldn't know about injector flow rates and what they're worth ???
