just a quick question, how do u guys figure the size of waste gate needed? im guessing a larger gate would be needed to run a lower boost to allow more to bypass? ? and also a w/g thats too small cant redirect enough gas to stop turbo spooling? ? ?i have a to4b and planned 38 or 42 mm what do u think?

the general rule i work on is you cant have too big of a wastegate in my view. But really it depends on the size of your exhaust housing of the turbo too, if you plan on running a smaller exhaust side then run a larger external wastegate so you wont choke the motor up at higher revs :)

best to go biggest ie 48mm+, i had so many probs with a 36mm it wasnt worth it.
yes small gate= high boost and large gate= low boost.
bigger gate can controll both boost settings fine.
thats what ive found with my car anyway.......
