Just after a little info on running nitrous oxide, i know the basics of running it but i am after a little into regaurding some specifics. Thinking and just thinking of running a wet system on a Boss 260 with a RPM based progressive n2o controller. The only one I can seem to find is made by FJO electronics in the states exclusively for nitrous express. Basically what im after is a HIDDEN wet system that turns on at 3ooorpm and turns off at 58oorpm. With a first gear cut out so traction isnt an issue. So running a 1oo shot it would jet say 20hp at 3ooorpm 40hp at 3250, 60hp at 35oo, 80hp at 3750 and 100hp at 4ooorpm. This unit says it uses a TPS which im assuming is a throttle postion switch, which would make it possiblt to run the n20 the way i want. If anyone knows of a better system i can run or if they have any info regarding a set up like this please post away.
Your talking about 2 different setups there kinda. One is rpm based, the other throttle position based. But stick with your rpm based system, it sounds better for what you want. I wouldn't worry about the first gear cut-out either.
It shouldn't be that hard to setup. And by 'hidden' I guess you mean something like this,?

I would prefer a rpm system but the maximiser has both i think. Yes similar to that if the n20 lines can be keep concealed. Car will be a daily driver and will be fired down the strip every now and then, mainly fun on the private highway if i ever get beaten. Car is a 6spd manual MKII xr8, waiting for a new exhaust to come out along with Boss edit hoping by xmas. Then in the next 6 months ill be looking at BPT Boss R inake, cams and ported heads EB 5.6 and the basics like cai and u/d pullies. Aiming for 3oorwkw+ n/a in time and have the gas there if its ever required or for squirts at the track :AAHHH: . Reason for the overkill is that i know basically nothing about engines (got the basics) and if i need it i turn it on and it will do what i want with no problems ans when i dont its hidden and presumably not there :wnc: .
Have you seen what happens if the car catch's on fire!! Petrol and N20 No thanks. If some safety guys get hurt or killed you could be in alot of trouble....

It is an excellerant in a car crash where fire is evident and mixed with N20 the fire simply will not be put out with co2 fire extinguisher.Except for Foam and thats not always available ..Makes petrol fires 10 times worse..But first fuel and gas {N20} lines need to be broken....Safe on drag strip, but DON'T use on street....
Well the way i figure it with the way i want to run the n2o it should be fairly safe, when not in use and disarmed the bottle will be turned off (remote bottle opner) @ the bottle. And if asked at the track if its on the gas i will tell the stewards and ask to not have it announced.
I have seen a bloke have his car taken (old rx7) in the mass roundup/defect of modified cars around the rocks. Not only was it taken off him then and there he got a $20,ooo fine. Im not willing to lose my new car and $20k.
I can fully understand what you want and why mate BUT thats some nasty side effects from the law there!!!!
Might be better to stick with all you can get the legal way and suffer the indignity of the occassional defeat (I know...ouch..but not as big an ouch as losing the car and that fine!!!!)

The car will still be legal with the n2o as long as the jets are blanks and the bottle is diconnected from the feed line. If i do need to use it caz i got wooped on the street, arrangemsnts can be made at the local track or private highway where theres no bright lights. Only reason i want to hide it is so the opponetns dont know its there.
Hide it under your back seat - make a little bracket; and feed the line through a hole in the chassis - theres already a hole there for the ABS (at least on my car) - just drill a second hole next to it.
my back seat just comes of by pulling two clips - and as if anybody else is gonna look under your back seat!!
And yeah i also heard NOS is only illegal if its connected; and it really isnt that bad if you use it sensibly - ie. dont go putting huge shots throught it cus at the end of the day, not only are u endangering urself and others around you - you might actually (heaven forbid) damage your motor!! Thats the WORSE that could happen!!
Sneaky Pete is a carby type 'top hat' style hidden NOS branded system.
There are dozens of ways to hide nitrous in your car.
Remebering that it cannot be mounted in the engine bay or in the passenger compartment for safety reasons, and also some cars consider the boot as still part of the passenger compartment.
I'm not going to list every spot possible as some I've thought of and use myself, but if you want to go into it deeper send me an e-mail.
Also, have you looked into nitrous heaps? You do know about running pressure gauges, cut-off switches, etc?
Alot of this safety stuff is not easily hidden too.

Its used in hospitals and given to patients for pain. Its also called laughing gas...The reason it can be very dangerous in a cars cabin, the driver laughs at everyone he runs over or into..Like a drunk. But there has to be a problem with fitment etc first...

Hey EBXR8240 you might know, what's the rules for nsw. I though you were allowed to have lines and bolttle in the car BUT the bottle had to be disconected from lines and jets had to be blanks. Any more info.
As far as I know the bottle is not supposed to be even in the car..It is to be taken I guess in another vehicle. If you want to adhere to the last letter of law...
The last thing you want to happen is your car to be impounded ...
With the spate of h.p cars in accidents lattley I don't think a magestrate or court would treat it lightly.....
I figure alittle pedantic if the boys in blue go that far, if its NOT connected...

So your not allowed to have the bottle in the car and thats it, what about an empty bottle?. Hmmm a secondary bottle hidden and feeding into the mainline. If your allowed to leave all the lines in and wirining hooked up but no bottle and you had a hidden bottle they wouldn't really suspect it would they. Open the boot no bottle ok off ya go.
It is legal to have the bottle in car in some states.
But as far as I know, in all states you must have the lines disconnected.
