hey everyone, sorry if this is the dumbest question ever and the answer is really obvious but i dont know a whole heap about engines and turbos and stuff! But can you twin turbo an inline 6 engine? Ive been told you cant do it but i thought i read on here sumwhere that it can be done! If it cant be done, WHY?

YES it sure can. Skyline GTR is TWIN TURBO in line SIX. Plenty other cars to add to the factory twin T inline list.

Yes it definietly can be done it's been done from the factory before (GTR) and lots of people have done after market jobs, I got photo's if you want. Also people do it because they are usually more responsive, 2 smaller turbo's are generally more responsive than one big one.

Yep, you sure can. Jason Ghiller's X-series Falcon used to be twin turbo'd till he dropped the twins for a huge T66 mama. I do not completely agree with the statement that twins are much better than single turbocharger application. I know of at least a few performance car owners who swapped twins for a single big turbo which worked like a gem.
Only trouble if you have an AU series onwards Falcon would be the lack of space in the engine bay for twins (T03s may be alright but twin GT40s onwards I'm not sure)...and also the heat issue.
I've got one GT40 turbocharger and I'm still trying to make heat shields to cover every single corner...burning out the brake booster, screwing up the steering arm and all...not good. Might just wrap the whole darn thing with aluminium foil...LOL
It's be nice if someone went ahead and twin turbo a BA XR6 Ute...good luck with your project. With the correct planning, I'm sure you can fit twin big mamas under the bonnet.

Hey Kerry, Turbo Blanket? Like one of the XTR ones? Yeah...I did consider getting one...I might just have to even though I don't really like how that'd look in my engine bay. I might also need to heat wrap the manifold too. Too much heat going on down there.
