Limit of standard internals in a Ford 6cylinder- turbo application

As the title says Im intrested in the limits of the stock internals of ford inline6 when turbocharging.

From the examples Ive read or heard about, a good tune ford 6 will handle up to 8psi boost and make around 200rwkw before giving up with stock insides.

Im assuming the later engines (ED-EL) are more tougher? Best I ever heard of was 220kw@wheels on a ED in the Zoom project.

What im looking for are other people thoughts and experiences with this. And maybe some good recomendations on what to replace the bottom end with.

Im running a 4.1 by the way.

Pryoray on ford mods is putting out 330rwkw with stock internals. Thats at 15 or so psi though.

Re: Limit of standard internals in a Ford 6cylinder- turbo application

I've seen an XF that runs 24psi on stock bottom end, runs 10's through a 3 speed auto.
I'd reakon as long as you are supplying enough fuel and not revving the thing to 6000rpm it'll take a fair amount of boost.
However you need to make it capable of supplying more fuel to prevent detonation.
8psi from a stock 250 would be about limit before you'll need better fuel pump, carby/injectors (u didn't say if it was EFI) etc

New ride: EB GHIA, 5sp manual, pod filter, lightened flywheel, 9" diff conversion, locker, Superlows all round, full EB GT body kit, extractors and Zorst, EF XR8 wheels, Recaro Seats, GT Wheel and more.
Kenwood head deck, Sony Xpload 4" fronts and 6" backs and 300WRMS Fostgate 12" powered by avantgarde 250W RMS Amp. .
Turbo build now underway

Re: Limit of standard internals in a Ford 6cylinder- turbo application

Oooo i see, this is pretty encouraging. Guess ill be bale to stick with the stocko internals for the time being, great.

Im running a straight gas setup, when i finally get around to fitting the Gas Research setup im sure it will supply more than enough fuel/gas. I wouldnt be seeing much past 4500 anyway.

Which XF are you talking about FastFords?
