ok here we go i just thought i would get some advice.. i have nearly finished building my new turbo 4.0L motor... the specs are as follows

el 4.0
standard bore (engine was from a write off with only 40,000K)
keith black forged pistons.. (same dish as stock.. )
shot peened rods
arp studs and bolts
std cam
std head
1.8mm decomp plate and 2 head gaskets
mild port and polish
the exhaust manifold leaves a bit to be desired but will do for now
ea inlet manifold
600mmX400mmX75mm bar and plate intercooler
550cc injectors
malpassi fuel reg
bosch 044 fuel pump
t3/t4 turbo .82 exh and .60 comp

the question is with this combo what heat range plugs should i run and how much boost could i run and what sort of power do you guys think i would have?

Friend of mine has similar set up in an ED only diff i know are is small cam, no port'n'polish, +30thou on block. He runs 10psi (ish) hi boost and 6psi (ish) been a while since i seen him i moved 1800km away. He's good for around 200rwkw mild tune and injectors too small (24lb + extra inj) he often says turbo is too small. How hard you revving it? They don't like too much revs from memory 6000 max, my mate runs 5500max. The kick in the pants you get is great! Watch those decomp plates!!!!!!!

You certainly are creative with that manifold. You should have dished the original pistons and gone without a decompression plate, The tops of the EF piston can have the dish taken out about 3-4 mm no problem and they are a very strong piston. Turbo is a bit small but when you learn more about it you should get a T61 and weld up a good exh manifold. Just run 1 heat range colder. You can run as much boost as you like but the compressor is T4 so it will be out of its efficiency range by 15psi. So although you turn the boost up you wont get much gain. You will get 200rwkw depending on tune.

What ARP gear did you use as I thought ARP didn't do head studs or rod bolts for this engine.

dont know about the arp head studs,

but with a small bit of mods the mitsubishi 4g63 arp rod bolts fit in the falc rods

whoa dude that manifold is a bit of a mess. What are you doing with the oil lines?

by studs i ment the ones in the rods and bolts i meant the ones for the main caps.. sorry for not being verry clear.. i purchased them from mick webb's svo.. what would your opinion be on going sefi with tweecr or should i just get a haltech or microtech etc and start from scratch

Well it's up to you.
Tweecer is a good option because once the car is running maf it's a hell of a lot easier to tune but it's still a bit of a grey area as to the wiring changes required to let the injectors run SEFI.
The Tweecer/EEC tuner or J3 adapter would be my recommendation simply because they are so easy to run with once installed and can handle extra boost with no extra tuning provided you have the injector flow rates and maf size entered correctly when you start.

When are you going to install this? I'll find out what I can and see about the wiring mods required to use a tweecer.

Oh and if your car is auto then forget the tweecer idea for now (unless pete knows more)

does the maf sensor work on a similar bus system to the MAP systems. Meaning resistance changes as more air flows through and the computer mesasures the voltage drop accross it by feading it a 5v signal.??

No you have to wire in 3 serperate wires to a loom plug in the engine bay.
The MAP sensor remains and takes on a slightly differant job.
Yes thats correct they do read through resistance via a "hot wire"
