Re: New 07 Stang

Im not going to truly say that Roush is trash, but you have to think about the fact that Ford used Eaton chargers on its lightning, cobra and anything else supercharged. If you go to Roushes webpage, its an Eaton knockoff, so either way. But Eaton is what is used by ford, and for a at least one GM vehicle that I know of.

Re: New 07 Stang

im sorry i did have some wrong info. i called down and talked to Mike L. he is the service manager down there and told him i was having a conversation on here. he set it straight for me. i had the charger brand wrong. they installed a saleen supercharger on it. he also said that it would void certian aspects of the waranty but if brought back to him if a problem was incurred that he would try his damnest to get you taken care of. i assumed he was implying either trying his hardest to get it covered under warranty, or figure out a way to cut repair costs if not covered by warranty. he also added that they have installed quite a few of these and never had a problem...ever. he also said that this upgrade is in the range of $8,000. so like i said in my first post it is xpensive, but there is a dealer that will do it.

Re: New 07 Stang

There ya go. That sounds all about right. You also have to consider that the Saleen charger kit was designed for the mustang and it wouldnt be a huge problem for a good mechanic to install it. Im talking about buying a raw charger then trying to get it to fit on yourself. You dont have a chance unless you are an expert mechanic AND machinist. 8,000 is high, but worth it IF the dealer will at least try to help with any malfunctions. It should also be noted that 8,000 may be better spent "trading up" to an actual Saleen or Cobra if one in good shape could be found. Upgrading a paid off vehicle isnt bad, but upgrading a vehicle that payments are being made on isnt the best idea. The resale price on the "new creation" probably wouldnt reflect the large amount of money spent to creatre it, while an actual Saleen or Cobra surely would. Thank you though for looking that up.

Re: New 07 Stang

well im not sorry anymore cause thought i was right in my first post and as it turns out i was. i still thought that i had heard someone made a warranty friendly supercharger and ROUSH is it. look at this link. ROUSH Performance - About The Company no wait you will probably be to lazy. just like you didnt call to otain info even though i provided you resources. so ill just paste the relivant paragraph. here it is....
The ROUSHchargerTM, a supercharger system, could be viewed as a microcosm of the entire ROUSH Performance line. Due to the engineering and quality of the product, it is the industry’s only aftermarket supercharger that continues the factory drivetrain warranty on the car, and the only one to carry a full 3 year/36,000 mile warranty (see web site for details). In fact, when installed on a stock Ford Mustang on Spike TV’s "Horsepower TV" program, the hosts basically claimed that in more than 1000 television programs they have shot using thousands of products, "this is the best engineered product, the easiest install, and the most thoroughly written instruction manual we have ever used on the air."
